Friday practice seemed to be about testing tyres, appearing to be that some sets are better than others, it was hard to know what the true pace would be come race day.

Saturday Round 6

Conset Kart qualified 22nd overall .. more than 0.8 of second from pole and the worst qualifying position ever for Jim Rainbird. It was about to get worse, an accident at the start of race 1 saw another kart come over Jims head causing a puncture and retirement from the race.

Final 1: This meant starting from grid 34, climbing rapidly through the grid on lap one Conset kart was then cuaght in another clash causing a diversion and loss of all the places gained. Jim finished 26th.

Final 2: Running at 0.4 per lap off the lead pace meant progress was hard and a tough race gave just 18th place by the finish, so 2 finals to forget.

Sunday Round 7

Conset Kart (now on a different set of new tyres) qualified 17th but most importantly only 0.3 per lap off the pole position lap time and just 0.2 slower than grid 5. It was ceratinly going to be a tough day.

Race 1: 11th from Grid 17

Final 1: Starting grid 11 but with so many top drivers lapping at almost identicle lap times it was a case of trying to hold your place, a small error would mean dropping many places, after 20 laps 10th place was a welcome result, especially compared to the day before

Final 2: Starting grid 10 it was not a great race as everyone was nose to tail, a few places up a few places back was the story for most drivers and so another 10th after the final flag was the result

Championship position currently 9th with 1 round  (2 finals to go) at Glan Y Gors North Wales 22/23rd September.
