RBM patented operating mechanism
- Our
bodies and moving parts such as muscles
and joints are at risk of injury when we move
after having been still for any length of time.
- The
nature of the office workplace today is that
more and more tasks can be completed without
leaving your seat.
- The
RBM 600 series is designed to encourage movement whilst
seated and to ensure that the seat angle automatically
helps retain the natural ‘S’ shape of the spine
when the user works or leans forward at their desk
Fully independent dynamic seat and back
- General
advice to set up and for use of your 600 series RBM chair
- These
chairs can be adjusted in many ways, users must ensure that adjustment
knobs and arm wingbolts are tight before use
1 - Set the gas height using the lever on your right - try to have it
set slightly high rather than too low.
2 - Turn the larger left hand lever to lock the back rest upright. It
is recommended that the back rest is not locked for long periods.
The seat tilt cannot be locked in order that your posture is helped
to retain an ‘S’ shape when working forward at your desk.
3 - Sit forward on the seat to adjust the tilt balance lever which is
the smaller rear lever on your left. If you move the lever forward it
will take more pressure to tilt the seat.
This lever adjustment is noticeable to users of 60kg or less in order
that the seat tilts easier so if you are small or light then you will
most likely prefer the lever set full back. You cannot adjust this part
unless you sit at the front of the seat whilst you move the lever.
- 4
- Loosen the rear knob on the chassis under the rear of the seat pad
to slide the back rest horizontally in order to increase or decrease
the seated depth +/-50mm. Ideally you should sit with a 30-50mm gap
between the front of the seat and the back of your knees. Tighten the
knob again before using the chair.
- 5
- Loosen the knob behind the backrest to slide the back rest vertically
in order to position the lumbar area correctly for when you rest back.
Preferably do this wearing a thin top rather than a jacket so that you
can feel the back pad. Set it so that the most pronounced area goes
into the small of you back. Tighten the knob again before using the
chair.
- 6
- Now that the chair is set for your size and shape turn the large knob
which is under the front of the seat + or - to increase or decrease
the tension on the back tilt.
- Most
people will find that a full - minus position is comfortable and this
is the setting that will encourage the most body movement.
