Conset karts consistent run this year in the UK Easykart championship went rather pear shaped at Fulbeck last weekend: Round 7 in Lincolnshire was one we want to forget, ending in a non-finish in the final. Engine problems during Saturday meant virtually no practice, so 8th overall in qualifying was a surprise on Sunday morning. An accident in race one meant 18th grid slot for the start of the pre...-final, moving up to 11th for the 'A' Final starting grid only to be squeezed off the track halfway through the race on lap 11 whilst going for 8th place, retiring to the pits with damage. The speed was there for a top 4 result but this weekend it was not to be, dropping Jim Rainbird to 5th in the championship with one round to go.
